January 26, 2020. It’s just like any other Sunday. From sociology reading to accounting homework, I definitely have plenty to do. No time to waste. I start to take my books out when I hear my phone buzz next to me. I take a quick side-eyed glance and see a Bleacher Report notification. No big deal. Probably just one of the many notifications I get throughout the day. But I look a little closer. And my heart drops.

Brandon Ingram’s NBA career started with unmet expectations, LA drama, and major health concerns. Ingram was included in the package that sent Anthony Davis to the Lakers and brought a group of young players and draft picks to New Orleans. There were many concerns about Ingram coming into this season because he had recently underwent surgery for deep vein thrombosis in his arm. His journey back from this surgery was not an easy one by any means, but Ingram’s dedication and work ethic is finally paying off in a big way.

The AD trade rumors have been swirling ever since January, so it’s a little surreal to see a trade actually finalized. All in all, this trade is the biggest blockbuster in recent memory (and maybe ever), so I decided to take analyze the trade from both teams’ perspectives.

With the 2019 NBA Draft only a week away, I decided to make my own predictions on how the Draft will shape up. Besides the potential stars locked in as the first few picks, many people claim this draft class lacks depth. However, there are many glue guys towards the middle and late rounds who, while they might have a low ceiling, could be difference makers for a contender right away. Some of these picks might even be involved in a blockbuster trade. All in all, this Draft is sure to have some surprises and will likely shift the NBA landscape for years to come.
