As the NBA Preseason gets started and the regular season looms in the distance, here is a list of five teams that you should consider becoming a fan of for next season.
Los Angeles Lakers:
The Lakers are an obvious choice for any NBA fan. L.A. will be a popular fan destination with the huge signing of LeBron James to go along with young stars like Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma. This is the most excitement the Lakers have had in a long time, so you should definitely consider watching them next season.
Cleveland Cavaliers:
How will the Cavs recover from losing LeBron? This question will haunt Cleveland for the entirety of next season and it will be entertaining to see how they answer it. Kevin Love will be thrust into the role of the star player and Colin Sexton will have to live up to some pretty lofty expectations. While the Cavs likely won’t have as much success as prior years, the questions that hover over this team will make their season very entertaining.
Toronto Raptors:
The Raptors have lots of intriguing storylines heading into next season with the controversial departure of DeMar DeRozan and the acquisition of superstar Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi hasn’t played meaningful minutes in over a year, so it will be very interesting to see how well he performs. Toronto was never able to reach the Finals with DeRozan, but will Kawhi finally be able to take them to the top?
Phoenix suns:
The Suns haven’t had a successful season in a long time. Will this year finally be their breakout year? It’s definitely a possibility considering their drafting of Deandre Ayton and the progression of Devin Booker and Josh Jackson. Nonetheless, Phoenix is a team on the rise and you should consider jumping on their bandwagon before too many others do.
Utah Jazz:
The Jazz were the surprise of the Western Conference last season owing to the emergence of Donovan Mitchell. Utah was able to effectively recover from the loss of Gordon Hayward with Mitchell and Rudy Gobert leading this underdog team. Mitchell, with a full year under his belt, might take the next step and turn Utah into legitimate contenders. But no matter how much they succeed, the Jazz still have the coolest jerseys in the NBA.
